EasyPro’s kick-off meeting at the Tyndall National Institute
15th July 2024
On 16th July 2024, EasyPro will hold its kick-off meeting in the Tyndall National Institute in Cork, Ireland.
EasyPro is an EU-funded project that makes Irish universities carbon neutral through Energy Performance Contracting (EPCs). To do this, EasyPro will develop a tailored EPC Facilitation Service and procurement framework, which will be implemented at four Irish universities: University College Cork, Technological University Dublin, Maynooth University and Dublin City University. The project was formed in response to the EU objective of transitioning to a clean energy system and the Irish Government’s Climate Action Plan, the latter of which sets a target for all public body sectors, including the Higher Education Sector, to improve energy efficiency by 50% by the end of 2030. Currently, Ireland faces 26 billion Euro in fines for exceeding its carbon budget.
The EasyPro project contains four Irish partner organisations: University College Cork’s International Energy Research Centre, Codema Dublin, Lawler Sustainability and Carr Communications.
At the kick-off meeting, the EasyPro consortium will meet to discuss the project’s objectives and each project partner will present on how their respective work package will work towards attaining the project’s goal of making Irish universities carbon neutral.
